Obituary

Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Villisca, Iowa Jack Delaine Linn, age 80, of Villisca, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Jack was born March 20, 1936 in Red Oak, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Grace (Lloyd) Linn. He graduated from Villisca High School and farmed with his father and took care of Morton Mills Cemetery. Jack has been a resident of the Villisca Good Samaritan Society since 1971. Over the years he worked at the Nishna Productions Workshop and Camp Sunnyside. Jack was a member of the Villisca United Methodist Church, loved his family dearly, and enjoyed putting together puzzles. He sold his jig saw puzzles to raise money for a waterfall project at the nursing home that was inspired by him. This inspiration came to him in a dream. Jack will be missed by all who knew him. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother: Darwin Linn; sister: Alice Lantz; niece: LaDonna Focht; nephew: Rod Focht; and brothers-in-law: Carl Vansant, Richard Peterson, Merrill Lantz, and Marvin Focht. Survivors include his sisters: Barbara Focht of Red Oak, IA and Sara Peterson of Red Oak, IA; sister-in-law: Martha Linn of Corning, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Villisca Good Samaritan Society. Burial will be in the Morton Mills Cemetery. Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the funeral at the Villisca Good Samaritan Society. Memorials are suggested to the Villisca Good Samaritan Society or the Villisca Fire and Rescue. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
