Birthplace: Elliott, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Jackie Lee Keat, age 76, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013. Jackie Lee Keat was born November 4, 1936 in Elliott, Iowa, the son of John "Jack" and Mildred (Woods) Keat. He grew up in the Villisca, Cumberland and Elliott area and graduated from Villisca High School in 1954. Jack was united in marriage to Lorraine Norris on January 12, 1958 in Red Oak, Iowa. He farmed, including raising hogs for many years near Emerson, Iowa. He also worked for many years at the Emerson Farm Supply. Jack moved to Red Oak in 2000. Growing up, Jack was a member of 4-H and FFA and later served his country in the Iowa Army National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. Jack was preceded in death by his parents: John "Jack" and Mildred Keat; wife: Lorraine on December 18, 1996; sister-in-law: Elaine Goodwin; and brother-in-law: Don Nelson. Survivors include his children: Cindy Davidson of Red Oak; Teresa Clark and husband Roger of Silver City, IA; Jack Keat, Jr. and wife Loni of Red Oak; and Pam Ranney and husband Mark of Red Oak; grandchildren: Amanda Roper and husband Nathaniel of Brunswick, GA; Megan Davidson Smith and husband Tim of Bellevue, NE; Krystal Clark and husband TJ of Red Oak; Matthew Clark of Silver City; Racheal Clark of Silver City; Phylip Keat of Ames, IA; Dylin Keat of Red Oak; Shay Berglund and wife Stephanie of Red Oak; Justin Ranney and special friend Leslie Duley of Kansas City, MO; and Janeese Ranney of Red Oak; great grandchildren: John and Henry Roper; Aydden Clark; and Blake and Colton Smith; sisters: Jean Nelson and Shirley Koppen and husband Red of Red Oak; brothers-in-law: Bob Norris of Red Oak; Bob Goodwin of Glenwood, IA; and Dale Norris of Madison, WI; special friend: Barb Rucker of Red Oak; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery near Emerson, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
