Birthplace: Macedonia, Iowa Resided In: Oakland formerly Council Bluffs, IA Ina L. Cole, age 90, of Oakland, Iowa formerly of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. Ina Leose Cole was born February 23, 1916 at Macedonia, Iowa the daughter of Walter Lenore and Dona Jane (Hooper) Dobbs. She attended school at Henderson, Iowa. Ina was united in marriage to Malcolm Cole on January 27, 1932 in Malvern, Iowa at 12:00 Noon. Just as the minister completed the ceremony the noon whistle blew. To this union were born three children: Barbara Joan, Loren Ronald, and Donis LaVerne. They resided in the Henderson and Macedonia area until 1957 when they moved to Council Bluffs. They returned to Henderson in 1974 then moved back to Council Bluffs in 1979. In July of 1999 Malcom moved to the nursing home and in October Ina moved to Macedonia where she lived until May of 2006 at which time she moved to the Oakland Manor Nursing Home. Malcom preceded Ina in death in 2000. Over the years Ina worked at Hinchey's Laundry and Dry Cleaning, Southside Laundry, as well as doing housework and babysitting. She enjoyed collecting dolls, plates, and tea cups and saucers. Ina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters: Ethel Marie Shook; Bethel Dobbs; Goldie McKinney; Alta Janssen; Bertha Mahan; and her twin sister: Inez Colvin; brother: Larmon Dobbs; great grandson: Douglas Wayne Hancock and her son: Don Cole. Survivors include her daughter: Barbara Spohn and husband Gerald of Carson, Iowa; son: Loren Cole and wife Donna of Macedonia, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 22 great great grandchildren and expecting one more; sisters-in-law: Mildred Dobbs of Oakland, Iowa; and Argie Cole of Henderson, Iowa; brother-in-law: Elton George of Auburn, Nebraska; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the Carson Presbyterian Church with Rev. Michael Harvey officiating. Burial will be in the Farm Creek Cemetery at Henderson, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-7:30 PM Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Carson Presbyterian Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
