Birthplace: Crescent, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Henry G. Jensen, age 72, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Henry George Jensen was born June 20, 1940 in Crescent, Iowa the son of George and Sigrid (Berg) Jensen. He was united in marriage to Doris Ellison on October 19, 1958 in Red Oak, Iowa. After their marriage they lived in Red Oak where Henry started his own business and later moved to Atlantic, Iowa in 1960 where he owned and operated the Gulf Station until 1976. He then purchased Ebert Oil in Red Oak which became Jensen Service Center. Henry was a long time member of the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, bird watching, and listening to old time country music. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife: Doris on September 1, 2006; and a brother: Leonard. Survivors include his son: Allen Jensen and girlfriend Cynthia Horning of Red Oak, IA; daughter: LaDonna Jensen of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Leanna Jensen and husband Jeremy James, Shaun Jensen, and Kevin Jensen all of Red Oak, IA; great granddaughter: Anna Marie James of Red Oak, IA; brothers and sisters: Dorothy Lee, Harold Jensen, and Betty Woolsoncroft all of Council Bluffs, IA; Harry Jensen, Marvin Jensen, and Geraldine Stahlnecker all of Crescent, IA; John Jensen of Magnolia, IA; Robert Jensen of Modale, IA; and Jean Sorenson of Aurora, NE; his beloved 18 year old cat: Simba; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
