Birthplace: Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Helen A. Silkett, age 72, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Red Oak Healthcare Community. Helen Arlene Silkett was born May 2, 1941 the daughter of John William and Lila Arlene (Davis) Peterson. She was raised in the Lorimor, Iowa area. She was united in marriage to Lee Stroup in 1959 and later Raymond Jones. In 1979, Helen was united in marriage to Jack Silkett and moved to Red Oak, Iowa. Jack preceded her in death in 2012. Survivors include her son: Kenny Stroup of Red Oak, Iowa; daughters: Katherine Wilkens and husband Lee of Murray, Iowa and Karen Priest of Creston, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sister: Margaret Findley of Osceola, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services.
