Birthplace: Montgomery County, IA Resided In: Red Oak, IA Helen Clementine "Billie" Jones, age 99, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society. "Billie" was born September 27, 1915 in Montgomery County, Iowa, the daughter of Harley Clement and Mary Viola (Wolford) Woods. She attended the Wales Lincoln School. Billie was united in marriage to Russell Jones on June 10, 1939 in Rockport, Missouri. They lived in California for a short time before moving back to Red Oak where they lived their entire lives. She was a homemaker, but also worked at Hotel Johnson, cleaned houses, and baby-sat for relatives. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church. Billie loved dancing and visiting with family and friends including all of the residents and staff at the Good Samaritan Society where she had been a resident for the past 5 years. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Russell Jones on November 14, 2003; her brothers: Dick Woods and Perry Woods; sisters: Maxine Marsden, Ada Williams, Lois Sellers Johnson, and JoAnn Orr. Survivors include her sisters: Mary Galitz of Oakland, IA and Mabel McKelvey and husband Bill of Oklahoma City, OK; sister-in-law: Phyllis Woods of Red Oak, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ricky Rohrig, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Christian Care Endowment Fund at Good Samaritan Society. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
