Heidi Michele Parson, age 50, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa after a month-long illness. Heidi was born June 13, 1972, the daughter of Tom and Nancy (Wilson) Bentley. At age 14, she worked at JD Café and continued to do so during her high school years. She graduated from Red Oak Community High School in 1991 and received her CNA certificate. She was employed by various nursing homes in the Council Bluffs area before returning to Red Oak to work for Good Samaritan Society and Nishna Productions Inc. She was always dedicated to the healthcare industry and helping others. Heidi was united in marriage to Rodney Parson on April 22, 1995, and a daughter, Samantha Sue was born May 25, 2000. Due to health issues, she retired. After retirement, her focus was on her family and the animals she loved. Heidi is remembered for her willingness to always help others and the positive attitude she had during trying times. She never met a stranger.

Survivors include her husband: Rodney Parson; daughter: Samantha Ross and husband Jordan; parents: Tom Bentley and Nancy and Bob Lewellen all of Red Oak, Iowa; brothers: Zachary Bentley of Red Oak, Iowa and John Bentley of Ohio; step-children: Mike, Ashley, and David Parson; two sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Nelson-Boylan LeRette Funeral Chapel.  Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Monday, January 9, 2023 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Montgomery County Animal Alliance and Rescue.
