Birthplace: Rural Wales, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Hazel Mildred "Bunny" Jones, age 92, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Saturday, August 7, 2004 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Hazel Mildred "Bunny" Jones was born September 22, 1911 in rural Wales, Iowa the daughter of David and Silvia (Maxwell) Jenkins. She was raised near Wales and graduated from Wales High School. She attended Red Oak Junior College for 1 year receiving her teaching certificate. Hazel taught at the Triplett school until her marriage to George D. Jones on April 15, 1935 at the Oaks Church. Hazel and George farmed all of their lives near the Wales and Red Oak areas. Hazel was a member of the Wales Presbyterian Church, attended Oaks Church, and when she moved into Red Oak attended the Church of the Nazarene. She was also a charter member of the Jolly Janes. Bunny was a sports enthusiast all of her life mostly wanting to support the children. She loved the car races, gardening, flowers, playing the piano, cardinals, and most of all her family. Bunny was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law: Margaret and Trent Jones; husband: George D. Jones on July 17, 1983; son-in-law: Gary Honeyman; and several sisters and brothers-in-law. Survivors include her children: LaDonna Honeyman Rossander and husband Harold of Stanton, Iowa; Karen Rahn and husband Richard of Omaha, Nebraska; Trent Jones and wife Frances of Kansas City, Kansas; and Larry Jones and special friend Katie Grange of Snowmass, Colorado; 3 grandchildren: Dixie Singbeil and husband Byron of Washington, Iowa; Marvin Honeyman of Essex, Iowa; and Sherri Jones of Kansas City, Kansas; 9 great grandchildren: Andrew, Jordan, Mallory, and Colton Singbeil; Gary, Audra, and Scott Honeyman; and Carrie and Callie Jones; brother: Harold Jenkins of Emerson, Iowa; sister: Hellen Bonfy of Red Oak, Iowa; many nieces and nephews including Bryan Jenkins and wife Trudy of Red Oak, Iowa; Darry Jenkins and special friend Linda Jay of Emerson, Iowa; Don Jenkins and wife Nancy of Atlantic, Iowa; and Margaret Ann Maher and husband Mick of Red Oak, Iowa; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Alan Dean officiating. Burial will be in the Gomer Cemetery at Wales, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Monday, August 9, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak is in charge of arrangements.
