Birthplace: Eau Claire, Wisconsin Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Hannah Gutschenritter, age 101, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at the Stanton Care Center after an extended illness. Hannah Katherine Gutschenritter was born January 8, 1901 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin the daughter of Michael and Sarah (Dooley) McKelvey. The family moved to South Dakota before moving to Red Oak in 1909. At the age of 15 years, Hannah went to work for the Thomas D. Murphy Company where she worked for over thirty years. She was united in marriage to Frank Gutschenritter on June 24, 1942 in Red Oak, Iowa. They lived all of their lives in Red Oak and shared time in California with family. Frank preceded Hannah in death on October 27, 1999. Hannah was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society; and the 15 - 20 year club at Thomas D. Murphy Company. Survivors are her many nieces and nephews including: Colleen Stoddard and her husband Wayne of San Bernadino, California; and Jack Huntsman of Oceanside, California. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 23, 2002 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father James Kleffman officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Thursday, August 22, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Recitation of the Rosary at 8 PM. Memorials are suggested to the St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Red Oak Rescue Unit. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak is in charge of arrangements.
