Birthplace: Emerson, Iowa Resided In: Emerson, Iowa Hadley J. Parker, age 93, of Emerson, Iowa passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Stanton Care Center in Stanton, Iowa. Hadley J. Parker was born December 4, 1919 in Emerson, Iowa the son of John and Edith (McClain) Parker. He graduated from Emerson High School and attended Iowa State University before entering the United States Navy. While in high school Hadley received his pilot training which he used in the military during WWII. Upon his return from the war, Hadley started Custom Hay Bailing and later farming. He was united in marriage to Mary Bass on September 20, 1947 in Emerson, Iowa. They were lifelong farmers and operated Parker Aero Service providing crop dusting services in southwest Iowa. Hadley was a longtime member of Oaks Community Church where he served as Deacon, Trustee, Sunday School teacher, and Treasurer. He had a passion for flying, enjoyed reading, treasured his time with family, and was a faithful servant of the Lord. Hadley was also a member of the Emerson American Legion Post #575 and a forty year member of the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Hadley had made his home at the Stanton Care Center for the past two years and prior to that he lived at Arlington Place in Red Oak for 10 years. Preceding him in death were his parents and wife: Mary Parker on October 22, 1991. Survivors include his children: Irving Parker of Emerson; Connie Gallion of Massillon, OH; and Ruth Aughe and husband Clarence of Villisca, IA; grandchildren: Dale Gallion and wife Stacy of Pickerington, OH; Mark Gallion and wife Edna of Massillon, OH; Kattie Lewis and husband Brad of Emerson; Angela Elliott and husband Matt of Massillon, OH; Joe Parker and wife Tina of Emerson; Clayton Aughe and wife Angela of Lincoln, NE; and Amanda Aughe and fiancé: Rick Blood of Cedar Rapids, IA; great grandchildren: McKenna, Kyla, Evan, and Taylor Gallion; Parker and Grant Lewis; Sydney and Jake Elliott; Cody and Teigan Parker; and Kaylee Ann Aughe; brother: William "Bill" Parker of Deltona, FL; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 AM Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial of the cremated remains will take place at a later date at the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
