Birthplace: Lebanon, Missouri Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Golda A. Bills, age 98, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Care Center after an extended illness. Golda A. Bills was born September 22, 1909 in Lebanon, Missouri the daughter of George and Nancy (Kincheloe) Core. The family moved to Iowa when Golda was very young and she attended school in Carson, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Dallas Bills on July 27, 1926. They lived on several farms while raising their family. They eventually bought a farm north of Red Oak. Then in 1953 they moved into Red Oak where they remained. Golda worked as Head Cook at Stennett School for 5 years then worked for Hunt's Super Value in the Meat and Produce Department for over 25 years. She was a charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary where she served as President and Past President and was involved in starting two other auxiliaries. She was a wonderful cook, loved to entertain, and have big family holidays and gatherings. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Dallas in 1972; two grandsons: Rusty Johnson and Mark Bills; sister: Velma; brother: Irvin; and several nieces and nephews. Survivors include her 5 children: Doris Johnson of Red Oak, Iowa; Lois Funkhouser of Shenandoah, Iowa; Bernard Bills of Red Oak, Iowa; Gordon Bills and wife Barbara of Creston, Iowa; and Marlin Bills and wife Dorothy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother-in-law: Howard Bills of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 10 grandchildren: Randy Johnson and wife Cindy; Tracy Bills and wife Lori; Bryan Bills and wife Tracie; Kris Rold and husband Dan; Dr. Deanne Funkhouser; Shelley Longstaff and husband Jeff; Cindy Quinn; Kim Gatliff and husband Chester; Kevin Bills and wife Holly; and David Bills and wife Angie; 32 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 11 AM Monday, July 21, 2008 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Caryn Pederson officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Eagles Lodge Auxiliary. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
