Birthplace: Minneapolis, Minnesota Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Gladys M. Ritnour, age 93, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Gladys M. Ritnour was born July 8, 1919 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Cecelia Ebba Swanson. She lived many years in Omaha, Nebraska then moved to Villisca, Iowa and was united in marriage to Ferroll Ritnour on May 16, 1936 in Red Oak, Iowa. She lived the rest of her life in Red Oak, Iowa. Gladys was a member of the First Baptist Church, Royal Neighbors Association, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed baking, reading, playing cards, watching TV, and spending time with her family. Preceding her in death was her mother, husband: Ferroll Ritnour on January 4, 1991; and granddaughter: Marcia Crouse. Survivors include her children: Lucille Crouse and husband Richard of Nodaway, IA; Carolyn Baker and husband James of Red Oak, IA; and Steve Ritnour and wife Joy of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Stanley Thompson and wife Nancy of Clive, IA; Fred Crouse of Clive, IA; Sherry Powers and husband Drue of Red Oak, IA; and Sarah Ritnour of Red Oak, IA; great grandchildren: Andrew Thompson of Berkeley, CA; Sam Thompson of Mankato, MN; Matthew Thompson of Des Moines, IA; Ben Thompson of Des Moines, IA; Rebecca Crouse of Iowa City, IA; Julia Crouse of Urbandale, IA; Olivia Crouse of Urbandale, IA; Ethan Powers of Red Oak, IA; and Logan Powers of Red Oak, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Len Taylor officiating. There will be open visitation at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:45 AM on Friday to go to the cemetery in procession. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
