Obituary

Birthplace: Des Moines, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Ora Colleen "Ginger" Kling, age 76, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at her home after a lengthy illness. Ginger was born January 8, 1939 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Forest and Lois (Carpenter) Grasty. The family moved to Red Oak when Ginger was eight years old where she attended school. Over the years, she worked for Union Carbide Company, Montgomery Ward, and Thos. D. Murphy Co. retiring from JII after many years of service. Ginger was united in marriage to Steve Kling in 1980 in Red Oak. She was a long time very active member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge where she participated in the Ritual Team. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a gourmet cook. But most of all she enjoyed the time she spent with her family especially the grandchildren. Her family lovingly describes her as "a hoot", "feisty", and "something else". She will be missed by all who knew her. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband: Steve Kling of Red Oak; daughters: Rene Lyden of Red Oak; Vickie Kammerer and husband Randy of Council Bluffs, IA; and Julie Goettsche of Red Oak; grandchildren: Mike Cave of Red Oak; Emily Dillon and husband Cory of Bennington, NE; Jordan Goettsche of San Diego, CA; and Katie Goettsche of Cedar Rapids, IA; great granddaughter: Brinley Dillon; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
