Birthplace: Blanchard, Missouri Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Geraldine E. Knight, age 82, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Friday, February 18, 2005 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Geraldine Eleanor Knight was born December 31, 1922 in Blanchard, Missouri the daughter of Ralph and Verne (George) Davis. She was raised in Blanchard and attended school in Blanchard, Iowa. As a young girl Geraldine was proud to have worked at the Delmonico Hotel in Shenandoah. She was united in marriage to Wayne Lillie on May 21, 1941. Three children were born of this marriage: Rita, Linda, and Connie. Geraldine worked as a waitress at the Patterson Café for several years. On August 24, 1957 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Knight. They had one son, Stanley. They lived in Shenandoah and Red Oak before moving to Stanton, Iowa where they both worked for the Stanton Schools. Geraldine retired in the early 1980's and they moved to Red Oak. Lloyd preceded her in death on August 7, 1989. Geraldine later moved into Acorn Acres and most recently the Good Samaritan Care Center. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Lloyd; brother: Merle Davis; and grandson: Stephen Wayne Lillie. Survivors include her 3 daughters: Rita Haskin and husband Gary of Shenandoah, Iowa; Linda Price and husband Richard of Red Oak, Iowa; and Connie Patterson and husband Gary of Shenandoah, Iowa; son: Stanley Knight and wife Wendy of Indianapolis, Indiana; 7 grandchildren: Glenna Grother and husband Dan of Altoona, Iowa; Anthony Akers and special friend Sherry of Red Oak, Iowa; Shawn Chambers and special friend Melinda of Ceylon, Minnesota; James Akers and special friend Sharon of Omaha, Nebraska; Bill Price and wife Jasclyn of Shenandoah, Iowa; Eric Edwards of Shenandoah, Iowa and Brian Price and special friend Carrie of Griswold, Iowa; 12 great grandchildren; brother: Carl Davis and wife Betty of Shenandoah, Iowa; 3 step-children: Joe Knight of Yuba City, California; Suzanne Peterson of Fresno, California; and Elsie Gray of Red Oak, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor David MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Monday, February 21, 2005 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Rescue Unit. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak is in charge of arrangements
