Birthplace: Carbon, Iowa Resided In: Villisca, IA formerly Red Oak, IA Gerald Dean "Mike" Larson, age 94, of Villisca, Iowa formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Villisca Good Samaritan Society. Gerald "Mike" Larson was born March 23, 1923 in Carbon, Iowa the son of Lars and Lillian (Thorson) Larson, He was raised in Villisca, Iowa where he attended school. He later joined the Air Corps serving during WWII. Mike was united in marriage to Beatrice Holt on June 16, 1946 in Villisca, Iowa. They made their home in Villisca where Mike worked for Earl Marsh Chrysler and Dodge Dealership until 1966 when they moved to Red Oak. Mike worked for the Iowa DOT as a mechanic until his retirement. Most recently Mike has been a resident of the Villisca Good Samaritan Society. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife: Beatrice Larson; brothers: Clifford and Lloyd Larson; and sisters: Bernice Marsh and Florence Means. Survivors include his children: Richard Larson of Avinger, TX and Sandy Bierbaum and husband Larry of Essex, IA; grandchildren: Missy Bierbaum of Red Oak, IA and Mike Bierbaum and wife Kris of Red Oak, IA; great grandchildren: Braden Mozingo and husband Will; Bridgett Sands; Brandi Sands; and Emma Bierbaum all of Red Oak, IA; great great granddaughter: Racine Bierbaum of Red Oak, IA; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date at the Arlington Cemetery near Villisca, Iowa . Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services.
