Gerald Jay Grogg, Sr., age 77, of Villisca, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at the Villisca Good Samaritan Society. Gerald was born November 23, 1945, in Gallion, Ohio, the son of Forrest and Viola Grogg. He lived most of his life in Kansas until moving to Villisca, Iowa. Over the years, Gerald worked on the oil riggs, was an electrician, plumber, and carpenter. His hobbies included fishing, camping, playing pool, watching westerns, people watching, and he loved being outdoors. He also served in the United States Army.

Preceding him in death were his wife: Elsie Grogg and son: Kenneth Mewhinney. Survivors include his children: Gerald Grogg, Jr, LaVonda Shuler, Douglas Kirsch, Joseph Grogg, Jr., Peggy Jenkins, David Holst, and Robert Grogg; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held in Kansas at a later date.

Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services.
