Birthplace: Rural Braddyville, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa formerly Stanton Georgia Mae Neal, age 90, of Red Oak, Iowa formerly Stanton, Iowa passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at her residence after an extended illness. Georgia Mae Neal was born June 18, 1919 near Braddyville, Iowa the daughter of George Lloyd and Virginia Mae (Lawrence) Bishop. She was raised in Southwest, Iowa and graduated from the College Springs High School in 1937. Georgia Mae was united in marriage to Floyd E. Neal on March 26, 1938 in Shambaugh, Iowa. They farmed for 38 years southeast of Stanton, Iowa in Page and Montgomery Counties. They retired in 1976 and moved into Stanton. Georgia Mae was a member of the farm neighborhood club for many years. In 2003, Georgia Mae moved to Acorn Acres in Red Oak. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Floyd Neal on January 7, 1995; sisters: Fae, Marie, and Dorothy; and brother: Casey. Survivors include her children: Betty Lou Spilotro and husband Dr. Vance of Los Angeles, California; Kathalene Resendez of Ferndale, Califronia; Patricia Neal of Red Oak, Iowa; Lyndora Shannon and husband Phil of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Lyle Neal and wife Debra of Hi Hat, Kentucky; Gerri Neal and wife Marilyn of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Johnnie Neal of Kansas City, Missouri; and Dannie Neal and wife Elsie of Red Oak, Iowa; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve McKinney officiating. Burial will be in the Mamre Cemetery at Stanton, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Heartland Hospice of Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
