Obituary

Birthplace: Morton Mills, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Geneva Grace Morgan was born August 25, 1920 in Morton Mills, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Anna (Binegar) Bashaw. She passed away on Thursday morning, March 27, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak, Iowa. Geneva attended country school as a child and later attended Villisca Schools through the ninth grade. On August 11, 1956 she was united in marriage to Donald Leo Morgan in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Geneva lived on the farm until 1944 when she moved to Red Oak where she was a clerk at the Dime Store. She also worked for Dannen Mill and Galloway Buick before moving to Shenandoah for a couple of years. She then moved to Lakewood, Colorado for 20 years, returning to Iowa in 1978. She then worked for Ayres Berggren Motors for several years before retiring. Geneva was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Red Oak. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald in 1977. Survivors include her step-children, Michael Morgan and his wife Marge of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Virginia Anderson and her husband Steve of Omaha, Nebraska; step-grandchildren, Lindsay Anderson and Libby Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska and Sarah Morgan of Denver, Colorado; nephews, Herb Bashaw and his wife Wilma of Villisca, Iowa, Joel Bashaw and his wife Marlene of Shenandoah, Iowa, Tom Bashaw and his wife Carolyn of Villisca, Iowa; nieces, Mary Jo Dart of Fremont, Nebraska, Jeanne Jones of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Helen Barr of Scranton, Iowa; along with other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Morton Mills Cemetery at Morton Mills. There will be open visitation on Friday, March 28 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. Memorials are suggested to the Make A Wish Foundation. Friends and family will meet at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery in procession.
