Birthplace: Clarinda, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Gary Steven Westover, age 63, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Gary was born December 14, 1951 in Clarinda, Iowa the son of Gib and Marilyn (Hayes) Westover. He was raised in Grant, Iowa graduating from Griswold High School in 1970. He was united in marriage to Joni Hultquist in 1971 in Stanton, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Stacy, Jed, and Nicholas. Over the years, Gary owned his own veterinary supply business, Animal Health Unlimited and later worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a sales representative. Most recently, Gary was a Pharmacy Tech at Methodist Hospital in the Cancer Center. He was united in marriage to Lori McCunn in 2000 in Red Oak, Iowa. He was a former President of the Red Oak Red Sox ball team and was a promoter of the program for many years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, throwing Halloween parties, and spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. Preceding him in death were his father: Gib Westover; son: Nicholas Westover; and brother: Danny Westover. Survivors include his wife: Lori Westover of Red Oak, IA; children: Stacy Perez and significant other Kevin Vanderhoof of Red Oak, IA and Jed Westover and significant other Jennie Doty of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Shelbie, Gadge, and Sydnee Perez; Savanna and Kyle Westover; and Maddex and Myhlie McCunn; mother: Marilyn Westover of Red Oak, IA; sisters: Patti Westover and significant other Patrick Pierce of Red Oak, IA; Nancy Hoffman of Walnut, IA; and Suzy McCunn and husband Mark of Red Oak, IA; brother: Matt Westover of Red Oak, IA; mother-in-law: Carolyn McCunn of Red Oak, IA; brother-in-law: Mike McCunn and wife Connie of Red Oak, IA; sister-in-law: Lisa Miller and husband Jody of Red Oak, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
