Obituary

Birthplace: Red Oak, IA Resided In: Red Oak, IA Gary L. "Doc" Walker, age 62, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, August 3, 2012. Gary Lee "Doc" Walker was born June 3, 1950 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of Charles and Pauline (Hunt) Walker. Gary graduated from Red Oak High School in the class of 1968 and attended Northwest Missouri State University for two years. He was united in marriage to Dee Vandever in 1969 and two daughters were born to this union: Cindy and Carey. He worked for Bertha Faunce on the dairy farm for many years and then started with the Railroad. Gary started a Harley Davidson Dealership in Creston in 1982 and moved it to Red Oak in 1988. Gary always enjoyed motorcycles and was a member of the Sons of Silence motorcycle organization. He also enjoyed tractors, fishing, and especially wild women. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: John and Myrtle Walker and Harold and Nellie Hunt. Survivors include his daughters: Cindy Price and husband Curtis of Castle Rock, CO and Carey Millikan and husband Todd of Shenandoah, IA; grandchildren: Cambre, Paige, Matthew, and Journey Millikan and Kohen and Jordan Price; parents: Charlie and Pauline Walker of Red Oak, IA; brothers: Chuck Walker and wife Gena of Red Oak, IA and Steve Walker and wife Cindy of Red Oak, IA; special friend: Carol Wedemeyer of Red Oak, IA; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. George Hooper officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
