Obituary

Frederick Donald "Fred" Trumble, age 81, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away, Monday, June 5, 2023, at Accura Healthcare of Stanton, Iowa. Fred was born March 9, 1942, in Oakland, California, the son of Donald and Evelyn (Darringer) Trumble. The family moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, when Fred was three years old. He graduated from Pius X Catholic High School and Peru State College with a bachelor's degree in education. Fred moved to Red Oak, Iowa, beginning a long teaching career with Red Oak Community Schools. Fred was united in marriage to Barbara McAlpin on June 9, 1973, in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home in Red Oak. Fred was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Red Oak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association. He was an outdoorsman who loved nature. He was a fisherman and a hunter. Fred was also an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife: Barbara Trumble on January 11, 2021; and son: Ryan Trumble on September 18, 2014. Survivors include his daughter: Joy Buehler and husband Scott of St. Charles, IL; daughter-in-law: Rhonda Trumble of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Macenzi Clark and fiancé Sean Crawford of Council Bluffs, IA; and London, Kennedy, and Liam Buehler of St. Charles, IL; sisters: Donna Chozen and husband Michael of Milford, IA; Margaret Trumble of Lincoln, NE; and Jeanne Hess of Redman, WA; brothers: Dennis Trumble and wife Janet of Overland Park, KS and Tim Trumble of Steamboat Springs, CO; brothers-in-law: Randy McAlpin of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Rod McAlpin and wife Connie of Red Oak, IA; many nieces and nephews including: Destiny, Ryan, Landon, Cody, and Trevor McAlpin; and other relatives and many friends.

A celebration of life service will be held 3 PM Friday, June 23, 2023, at First United Methodist Church.  Burial will be at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Anderson Conservation or the Red Oak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association.
