Birthplace: Omaha, Nebraska Resided In: Emerson, Iowa Frederick "Fritz" Larson, age 87, of Emerson, Iowa passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2002 at his residence in Emerson after an extended illness. Nels Frederick "Fritz" Larson was born September 29, 1914 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Nels and Anna (Goode) Larson. He graduated from the Emerson, Iowa High School in 1931. On September 1, 1937 Fritz was united in marriage to Margaret Quimby in Hastings, Iowa. Fritz and Margaret have farmed all of their lives in Mills County, Iowa near Emerson until 1977 when they moved into Emerson. Fritz was a member of the Emerson United Methodist Church, Past Master of the Emerson Humanity Lodge #378 of Masons, Order of Eastern Star, Montgomery Chapter #57 in Red Oak, Iowa Bruce Commandry #34 in Red Oak, Iowa, Member of the York Rite, Knights Templer, and was a fifty year member of the Masons. Fritz was also a member of the Emerson Community Club and was on the Mills County Board of Supervisors. Survivors include his wife: Margaret Larson of Emerson, Iowa; 2 sons: Joe Larson of Emerson, Iowa; and Jon Larson and his wife Sharon of Columbia, Missouri; 2 grandsons: Chris Larson of Chicago, Illinois; and Ben Larson of Denver, Colorado. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, January 5, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Nancy Schultz officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, January 4, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Emerson United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
