Birthplace: Melrose, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Frankie Brown, age 90, of Red Oak, IA passed away Saturday, August 31, 2002 at the Good Samaritan Care Center. Frankie Louise Brown was born July 22, 1912 in Melrose, Iowa the daughter of E. Franklin and Amy (Bush) Stansberry. The family moved to South Dakota when Frankie was a young child and later moved back to a farm near Albia, Iowa. For a short time the family lived in New Sharon, Iowa until moving to Red Oak in 1950. Frankie worked at the Thomas D. Murphy Company for 25 years and managed the Red Oak Manor Apartments for many years. Frankie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Charles in 1982; son: Dick Brown; daughter: Kay Hardy; 2 sons-in-law: Lyle McCunn and Deane McCunn; a brother; and 3 sisters. Survivors include her 2 daughters: Carolyn McCunn and Colleen McCunn, both of Red Oak, Iowa; son-in-law: Lowell Hardy of Emerson, Iowa; 8 grandchildren: Mike McCunn and Connie Jarrett of Red Oak, Iowa; Lori Westover and her husband Gary, Mark McCunn and his wife Suzie, Lisa Cashatt and her husband David, Kathy Crowe and her husband Terry, and Linda Huntington and her husband Ted all of Red Oak, Iowa; Cheri Marcum and her husband Jim of Larkspur, Colorado; and Teresa Richardson and her husband Jim of Boise, Idaho; many, many great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Doyal Stansberry and his wife Marge of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Dewayne Stansberry and his wife Doris of Knoxville, Iowa; sister: Helen McFatridge of Eagle, Alaska; and many other relatives and friends. There will be a visitation held from 2-4 PM Friday, September 6, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Rescue Unit. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
