Birthplace: Stanton, Iowa Resided In: Stanton, Iowa F. Louise Thoren, age 83, of Stanton, Iowa, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Frances "Louise" Thoren was born February 6, 1928 in Stanton, Iowa the daughter of Earl and Frances (Ossian) Boyer. She graduated from Stanton High School and was later united in marriage to Donavon Thoren on November 22, 1947 at the Tabor Lutheran Church at Wallin. Louise lived all of her life on a farm in the Wallin area. She was very active in the First Covenant Church and First Covenant Women. Louise enjoyed spending her time reading and visiting her friends. She especially enjoyed her time spent with her granddaughter and great grandchildren. Louise was a caring and loving person who always kept in touch with friends and family whether it was on the telephone, a coffee party, or sending a card. She will be missed by all who knew her. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Donavon Thoren on November 1, 1996; son: Rick Thoren in 1967; brother: Malcolm Boyer; and son-in-law: Lynn Baker. Survivors include her daughter: Jane Baker of Wylie, Texas; granddaughter: Rachel Taylor and husband Marc of Lavon, Texas; great grandchildren: Avery and Gage Taylor of Lavon, Texas; brother: Darwin Boyer of Stanton, Iowa; sister: Norma Johnson and husband Richard of Omaha, Nebraska; brothers-in-law: Lavon Thoren of Red Oak, Iowa and Leland Thoren and wife Jeannie of Council Bluffs, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Alan Dean officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
