Birthplace: Montgomery County, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Evelyn Lloyd, age 78, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 22, 2003 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Evelyn Marie Lloyd was born February 22, 1925 in Montgomery County, Iowa the daughter of John and Emma (Majersky) Hritz. She was raised in the Wales area and was united in marriage to Charles Lloyd on November 3, 1942 in Oregon, Missouri. She worked in a munitions plant during World War II and returned to Red Oak after the war. Evelyn worked for Almquist Feeds before working for McAlpin Motors for 25 years retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Red Oak Eagles Lodge. She was preceded in death by her brother: Joseph Hritz; and her husband: Charles Lloyd on March 1, 2002. Survivors include her son: Stephen Lloyd and his wife Rebecca of Thurman, Iowa; grandson: Jonathan Lloyd of Thurman, Iowa; brother: James Hritz and his wife Marjorie of San Diego, California; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Suzanne Hewett officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. There will be visitation with the family 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak is in charge of arrangements.
