Birthplace: Maryville, Missouri Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Evelyn Harman, age 37, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak after an illness with cancer. Evelyn Louise Harman was born May 24, 1965 in Maryville, Missouri the daughter of Alvin and Marilyn (Wright) Harman. She was raised in Shenandoah, Iowa and graduated from the Shenandoah High School in 1983. Evelyn lived most of her adult life in Red Oak, Iowa where she worked for the Good Samaritan Care Center and the YMCA. Evelyn was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. Survivors include her son: David Harman of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter: Danette Harman of Red Oak, Iowa; the children's father: Rick Akers of Red Oak, Iowa; her mother: Marilyn Harman of Red Oak, Iowa; children's grandparents: Duane and Delores Akers of Stanton, Iowa; 2 sisters-in-law: Debbie Evans of Oakland, Iowa; and Angie Akers of Stanton, Iowa; brother-in-law: Gary Akers and his wife Angi of Apopka, Florida; nephew: Shaun Akers of Elkhorn, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation with the family will start at 6 PM Thursday, March 6, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with a memorial service to be held at 7 PM with Pastor Gary Walters and Chaplain Dave Hertles officiating. Visitation will resume after the memorial service until 8 PM. Memorials may be directed to the Evelyn Harman Memorial Fund. Interment will take place at a later date in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah, Iowa. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
