Esther Linnea McHenry, age 100, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Arlington Place Assisted Living. Esther was born March 5, 1922, near Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Severin B. and Ingeborg (Hanson) Anderson.

Esther was a lifetime resident of the Red Oak area and taught school for 43 years in Montgomery, Page, and Mills counties. She was a member of the Retried Teachers Organization, the Church of the Nazarene, and Happy Warblers.

Esther was married to Ralph Wayne McHenry on June 28, 1953, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1991.

Survivors include a niece: Joyce Royston; several cousins in Sweden; many great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association, the ALS Foundation, or the Church of the Nazarene.
