Birthplace: Gravity, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Erma Wyckoff, age 90, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Thursday, August 21, 2003 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Erma Coryl Wyckoff was born July 4, 1913 in Gravity, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Clara (Burrows) Kysar. She was raised in Gravity and graduated from the Gravity High School in 1931. She attended one year of College at the University of Iowa on a scholarship. Erma was united in marriage to Fred Wyckoff in 1938 at Bedford, Iowa. She came to Red Oak in 1953 and lived here until moving to Wyoming in 1976 where she lived for a short time. Erma moved back to Red Oak in 1980. She was a homemaker, a writer (sometimes for the Omaha World Herald), and a radio personality with KMA Radio and KSIB Radio. Erma enjoyed singing and cooking. She used to go door to door selling her baked goods, often giving free samples in order to sell more. Preceding her in death was her husband: Fred Wyckoff on August 5, 1987; 2 sisters; 3 brothers; and 2 grandchildren and step-son: Jerry Wyckoff. Survivors include her 7 daughters: Luanne Lukat of Colorado; Julia Schmitt and her companion David Keller of Roberts, Wisconsin; Judy Schooling and her husband Ron; Louise Platt and her husband Keith; Laura Greggs; Linda Russell; and Carmen Williams, all of Red Oak, Iowa; special family friend Darcie Tilton of Red Oak, Iowa; two step-sons Jack and Joe Wyckoff and one step-daughter Joanne Scofield of Clarinda, Iowa; 25 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; and her dog: Babe. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, August 25, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Sunday, August 24, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter or the Humane Society of the U.S. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
