Obituary

Eric Joseph Perez, age 58, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026, at his home. Eric was born January 20, 1968, in Laguna Beach, California, the son of Joe and Mary Frances (Benavides) Perez. He was raised in Texas where he graduated high school. He then served in the United States Army. Eric worked many factory jobs throughout the years. He was united in marriage to Stacy Westover in 1996 in Frisco, Colorado. They moved to Red Oak in 2002 where Eric worked in law enforcement, Eaton’s in Shenandoah, and Fastenal in Red Oak. In 2011, Eric moved to Texas where he met and married San Juanita “Pepper” Esquivel. They moved to Red Oak in May of this year to be near Eric’s children. Eric was a huge NASCAR fan and loved tinkering on cars. He was also a Cowboys fan. Eric loved traveling and always took the scenic path.

Preceding him in death were his biological mother and his sister, Jena. Survivors include his wife: Pepper Perez of Red Oak, IA; children: Maria Miller and partner Tassha Glover of Virginia; Shelbie Perez and fiancé Christian Gros of Red Oak, IA; Sydnee Perez and significant other Tristin Bolinger of Red Oak, IA; and Gadge Perez of Red Oak, IA; granddaughter: Olivia Miller of Virginia; step-children: Damian Aguilar and wife Pauline of San Antonio, TX and Savanna Aguilar of San Antonio, TX; step-grandson: Damian Aguilar, Jr. of San Antonio, TX; father: Joe Perez of Sturgis, SD; mother: Emma Perez of Kyle, TX; sisters and brothers: Gina Estrada of Killeen, TX; Jamie Perez of Kyle, TX; Jeremi Perez and wife Kristen of Kansas City, MO; Jami Perez-Wyly and husband Chris of Kyle, TX; and Jason Perez of North Dakota; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life visitation and luncheon will be held from 5-7 PM Friday, July 17, 2026, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel. Military Honors will be rendered at 6 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
