Birthplace: Rural Emerson, Iowa Resided In: Elliott, Iowa Enid Wilson, age 95, of Elliott, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Carroll Health Center in Carroll, Iowa. Enid Mildred Wilson was born January 15, 1918 near Emerson, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Fern (Shook) Snodgrass. She attended Keystone Country School until 8th grade when she went to Emerson where she graduated from high school in 1935. She stayed at home for several years to help out as her mother was in poor health. Enid was united in marriage to Frank Herbert Wilson on May 2, 1938 in Red Oak, Iowa. They lived with her father so she could keep house for him until they started farming for themselves. They lived and both worked on their farm near Wales for a number of years before moving to Omaha for one year. Then they moved to Elliott, Iowa. Enid worked at the Holiday Inn in Red Oak before starting to work for Murphy Memorial Hospital from where she retired. Enid enjoyed making quilts, afghans, and embroidered tea towels. She also crocheted pot holders. Over the years Enid was a member of Emerson Methodist Church, Oaks Community Church, and currently Elliott United Methodist Church. The past several years, Enid has resided at the Carroll Health Center in Carroll, Iowa. Enid was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Frank Wilson, an infant daughter; and son-in-law: Steve Thompson; and granddaughter: Joan Rinehart. Survivors include her children: William Wilson of Manhattan,KS; Frank Wilson of Carroll, IA; Jeanne Wilson of Kearney, NE; Rosemary Erickson and husband Dale of Atlantic, IA; and Betty Jo Bachand and husband Mike of Ft. Collins, CO; grandchildren: Calli Jo Bachand and Jason Bachand of Ft. Collins, CO; Mike Thompson and wife Dawn of Lewis, IA; David Thompson and wife Jennifer of Norwalk, IA; Marcie Stephens and husband Craig of Pleasanton, NE; Christopher Erickson of Anita, IA; John Rinehart, Sr. of Carroll, IA; and Jackie Berry of Carroll, IA; great grandchildren: Devon and Bradden Thompson of Lewis, IA; Cassie Stephens of Omaha, NE; Terry Stephens of Pleasanton, NE; John Rinehart, Jr. of Carroll, IA; Jenny Schwery and husband David of Ames, IA; and Jill Woodward and husband Shaun of Carroll, IA; great great grandchildren: Savannah and Brianna Woodward of Carroll, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, June 17, 2013 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
