Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Council Bluffs, Iowa Enid Sparr, age 72, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021, at the Risen Son Christian Village. Enid was born January 21, 1949 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Arthur and Eloise (Heckert) Lantz. She graduated from Red Oak High School in 1967 and then attended college in Tarkio, Missouri where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree. Later in life she earned her Master Degree in Family Consumer Science from Iowa State University. Enid was united in marriage to Dean Sparr on August 3, 1969 in Red Oak, Iowa. Over the years, Enid lived in Omaha, Nebraska, Elliott, Iowa, Dubuque, Iowa, and Princeton, Iowa, Carson, Iowa and currently a resident of Council Bluffs, Iowa. She worked as a nurse, worked at REM in Shelby, Iowa, working with handicapped adults, and worked in human resources at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Enid enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, and sewing. She loved music and was a wonderful pianist. She also loved having Sunday family dinners and was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church. Enid loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister Annabel Pina. Survivors include her children: Caryn Pedersen and husband Ed of Red Oak, IA; Daryl Sparr and wife Carrie of Treynor, IA; Rebecca Weilage and husband Seth of Council Bluffs, IA; Jeff Sparr and wife Sarah of Council Bluffs, IA; and Deborah Williams and husband Ronald of Carson, IA; grandchildren: Abby, Osiel, Tony, and Neyali Pedersen; Grant, Wyatt, and Madeleine Sparr; Emily, Zariah, and Braxton Weilage; Gavin and Paityn Sparr; and Naomi, Arthur, and Victor Williams; brother: Eric Lantz and wife Janie of Emerson, IA; sister: Greta Nelson of Crescent, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery. Viewing and visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Monday, June 7, 2021, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
