Elva Jane Olson, age 85, of Emerson, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Elva was born November 27, 1938, in Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Elva (Naylor) Stoll. She was raised near Lamoni and graduated from Lamoni High School in 1957. She then attended business school. Elva went to work in Des Moines for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was united in marriage to Marion "Bud" Mart and moved to Emerson, Iowa in 1969. She later married Robert Olson in 1979. Elva retired after many years from West Central Development in Red Oak. She was a long-time member of the Emerson United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Order of Eastern Star. She served on the church board and sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening, playing BINGO, and going to the casino.

Survivors include her husband: Robert Olson of Emerson, IA; children: Terri Toncar and husband Jim of Dallas Center, IA; Jim Mart and wife Ellie of Hancock, IA; and Teresa Baucom and husband Lee of Emerson, IA; grandchildren: William Mart of Hancock, IA; Tayler Mart of Woodbine, IA; Logan Toncar and wife Dr. Alicia Toncar of Bakersfield, CA; Hunter Toncar of Cedar Falls, IA; Jessica Watson and husband Jay of Malvern, IA; Patrick Jack of Des Moines, IA; Ashley Jack and fiancé Mike of Tarkio, MO; and Megan Jack of Malvern, IA; 13 great grandchildren; sisters: Glenda Mackey of Urbandale, IA and Mary Stoll of Urbandale, IA; brother: Rex Stoll and wife Janet of Lamoni, IA; sisters-in-law: Linda Yourkoski and husband Jim of Omaha, NE and Ethel Pendray and husband Merlin of Oregon; her beloved dog, Piper; and many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital for their wonderful compassionate care given to Elva.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow at the Emerson Community Building in Emerson, Iowa.
