Birthplace: Macedonia, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Eileen Sifford, age 90, of Red Oak, Iowa formerly of Elliott, Iowa passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Eileen Chillana Sifford was born September 7, 1913 in Macedonia, Iowa the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Rolfe) Bisbee. She was raised in Macedonia graduating from high school in 1931. Eileen was the day operator for the Macedonia Telephone Exchange for 6 years. She was united in marriage to James W. Sifford on February 24, 1938 in Papillion, Nebraska. They lived in the Elliott, Iowa area for many years where Eileen was a member of the Church of Christ, the O.N.O. Club and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. Eileen moved to Red Oak in 1994 and most recently to Arlington Place in March of 2003. Preceding her in death were an infant son; husband: James W. Sifford on August 15, 1990; 4 sisters: Hattie Frain; Fern Bisbee; Gay Schwartz; and Emma Keast; 5 brothers: Arthur Bisbee, Jr.; Bret Bisbee; Rolfe Bisbee; Roosevelt Bisbee; and Vernon Bisbee. Survivors include her children: Sandra Sifford of Lincoln, Nebraska; Barbara Syata and husband Robert of Red Oak, Iowa; and James Sifford and wife Diane of Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren: Julie Siniard and husband Steve of Omaha, Nebraska; Jacqueline Albers and husband Dave of Bennett, Nebraska; Jamie Sifford and wife Melanie of Red Oak, Iowa; Dan Syata and wife Rhonda of Des Moines, Iowa; and April Sifford of Washington, D.C.; great grandchildren: Jessica and Madison Siniard; Olivia and Grant Albers; and Bradley Sifford and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday, January 23, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Michael Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Elliott Church of Christ in lieu of flowers. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
