Edyth M. Thomas was born August 30, 1917 near Hawthorne, Iowa the daughter of Ray and Bessie (Dodds) Vannausdle. Edyth graduated from the Wales-Lincoln Consolidated School in 1935. She was united in marriage to Howard Thomas on May 29, 1937. Edyth spent her working years along side Howard on their farm. She enjoyed being outdoors working with livestock, milking (separating cream), doing yard work, gardening and tending her flowers. But most important in Edyth's life was her Lord. Edyth was a devoted member of the Oaks Community Church in rural Emerson, belonged to the Christian Women's Club and Women's Missionary Fellowship.
