Birthplace: Rural Henderson, IA Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Earl C. Kindig, age 86, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak after an extended illness. Earl Charles Kindig was born July 17, 1919 in rural Henderson, Iowa. He attended school at Wales. Earl served in the 149th Field Artillery Battalion of the Army during WWII. He was united in marriage to Lois Zuber on December 25, 1947 in Red Oak, Iowa. Earl worked for the Union Carbide for thirty years retiring in 1978. He and Lois moved to Oklahoma City after retirement to enjoy Earl's hobby of woodworking. He turned this into a small business. They returned to southwest Iowa in 1990 moving to Shenandoah. Earl and Lois moved back to Acorn Acres in Red Oak in 1998. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Donald, Harold, and Darrell. Survivors include his wife: Lois Kindig of Red Oak, Iowa; son: Richard Kindig and wife Cathy of Mustang, Oklahoma; 2 daughters: Diane Collins and husband James of Red Oak, Iowa and Susan Jenkins and husband William of Hartman, Arkansas; grandchildren: Randy Collins of Red Oak, Iowa and Wendy Kasper and husband James of Clarksville, Arkansas; 4 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at the Evergreen Cemetery. There will be open visitation at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
