Birthplace: Creston, Iowa Resided In: Elliott, Iowa Dusty Carson, age 57, of Elliott, Iowa passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008 at his residence near Elliott, Iowa. Dusty Carson was born December 29, 1950 in Creston, Iowa the son of Charles and Grace (Davis) Carson. He was raised and lived all of his life near Elliott, Iowa. He graduated from Griswold High School in 1969 and was united in marriage to Pam Hall on June 8, 1974 in Denver, Colorado. Dusty worked for Murren Grain Elevator in Elliott and later Turner Trucking before starting Dusty's Place restaurant in 1983. He coached baseball, basketball, and volleyball for the Griswold Community Schools for many years and was an avid sports fan. He also enjoyed playing sports himself. Dusty loved to play cards and loved winning even more. He enjoyed cooking, telling stories, and liked music. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife: Pam Carson of Elliott, Iowa; children: Travis Carson and fiancé Ashley Keller of Milwaukee, WI; Jessica Gustafson and husband Matthew of Denver, Colorado; Clayton Carson of Denver, Colorado; and Cassandra Carson of Denver, Colorado; brothers: Chuck Carson and wife Linda of Carlsbad, California and Fred Carson and wife Sharon of Griswold, Iowa; mother-in-law: Jan Hall of Lewis, Iowa; father-in-law: Louis Hall, MD of Elliott, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 4 PM Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the Griswold Community High School Gymnasium with Pastor Darrin Kimpson officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Griswold Sports Boosters for equipment. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel, Red Oak, is in charge of arrangements.
