Duane Oscar Nippert, age 88, of Villisca, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, at his son's home near Morton's Mill, Iowa. Duane was born April 21, 1936, in Ong, Nebraska, the son of Howard and Blanche (Brown) Nippert. The family moved to a farm in Iowa when he was two years old. Duane attended rural school at Morton's Mill, Iowa, and graduated from Villisca High School in 1954. He farmed with his father and later with his son. Duane was a member of the Morton's Mill Church and served in the Iowa National Guard, Company F in Villisca, Iowa from1954 until 1960. In 1970, Duane bought his own farm north of Villisca in Washington Township. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Jean Nelson on October 3, 1971, at the Methodist Church in Atlantic, Iowa. Two children were born of this union: Donald Duane and RoseAnna.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife of 51 years: Marilyn Jean Nippert; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Chamberlain, Pat Marsh, Darlene Frizzell, and Joyce Nelson; brothers-in-law: Jerry Marsh, Calvin Frizzell, Emory Bridgeford, Donald Nelson, and Roger Nelson; and nephews: Craig and Kent Chamberlain. Survivors include his son: Don Nippert and wife Chris of Morton's Mill, Iowa and RoseAnna Heinrich and husband David of Bogota, Columbia; 8 grandchildren: Rose, Cord, and Grace Nippert; and Rachel, Molly, Joshua, Luke, and Samuel Heinrich; sister: LaVera Bridgeford of Springfield, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Burial will be later at the Morton's Mill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 10-11 AM Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
