Birthplace: Rural Emerson, Iowa Resided In: Omaha formerly Red Oak, Iowa Dorothy J. Steiner Honeyman Moninger, age 92, of Omaha, Nebraska formerly of Red Oak, Iowa passed away, Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Dorothy Jean Steiner Honeyman Moninger was born March 25, 1916 in rural Emerson, Iowa the daughter of Richard Nelson and Ella Pearl (Stewart) Steiner. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Wales High School in 1934. She was united in marriage to Marvin Stuart Honeyman on October 1, 1934. They made their home on a farm North of Wales. Dorothy and Marvin farmed for many years and Dorothy attended church at the Oaks Community Church. Marvin preceded her in death on September 15, 1956. She was united in marriage to Frank Moninger in 1960. Dorothy lived in Omaha for a period of time and then moved to Red Oak where she lived for many years. For the past five years Dorothy had been living back in Omaha. Through the years Dorothy loved being on the farm and especially enjoyed buying cattle. She was involved in all aspects of the farm. She was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Farmers Cooperative. She enjoyed traveling and loved watching Sunday Services from the Crystal Cathedral. She was always fun loving and enjoyed spending time with her family. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Marvin Honeyman; her sons: Gary, Dennis, and Steiner Honeyman; infant brother: Philip Steiner; brother: Gordon Steiner; and sister: Fern Slump Rogers. Survivors include her sister: Velma Lewis of Omaha, NE; daughters-in-law: LaDonna Rossander and husband Harold of Stanton, IA; Willicene Honeyman of Red Oak, IA; and Pat Honeyman of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Dixie Singbeil and husband Byron of Washington, IA; Marvin Honeyman of Essex, IA; Mark Honeyman and wife Renee of Omaha, NE; Lisa Honeyman-Flora and husband Kenny of Omaha, NE; and Troy Honeyman and wife Christin of Omaha, NE; great grandchildren: Andrew, Jordan, Mallory, and Colton Singbeil; Gary Honeyman and wife Tiffany; Audra and Scott Honeyman; Mercedes, Mason, Madison, Miranda, and Michele Honeyman; Karissa and Landon Flora; Ashley and Alexis Honeyman; great great grandchildren: Madison Singbeil; Ava Grace Honeyman; foster grandchild: Kevin LeBaugh of Council Bluffs, IA and his children: Crystal Armbrust and husband Chad and Ashley and Beth LeBaugh and their children: Destiny Armbrust and Michela, Dylan and Christian LeBaugh; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, June 8, 2008 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Alan Dean officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 4-6 PM Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
