Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Dorothy Lasley, age 62, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Dorothy Eldora Lasley was born October 13, 1947 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Orville and Eva May (Hicks) Pearce. She grew up in Stanton, Iowa where she attended school. Dorothy lived in the Red Oak area most of her life except for six years when she lived in Colorado where she worked at the Hospital. In the Red Oak area Dorothy worked as a waitress and cook as well as working for CDS and the Red Oak Express. Dorothy has been a member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge since 1987 where she has served as president of the Auxiliary and Past President twice. She received the 2008 Woman of the Year Award and was named as a 2009-2010 State Sister. She enjoyed embroidery and craft work, Bingo, reading, and spending time with her family. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Kenneth Lasley on October 29, 1994; daughter: Laura May Evans; granddaughter: Brooklyn Baucom; and special friend: John Eggert. Survivors include her sons: Shane Evans and wife Stacy of Skidmore, Missouri and Herrold Lasley and wife Alex of Red Oak, Iowa; 6 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; brother: Carl Pearce of Stanton, Iowa; special nephew: Larry Pearce of Red Oak, Iowa; longtime friend: Ruth Owens and husband Bill of Stanton, Iowa and many other relatives and friends including her family at the Red Oak Eagles Lodge. Graveside memorial services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel by 1:30 PM on Wednesday to go to the cemetery in procession. A memorial visitation will follow the services at the Red Oak Eagles Lodge. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
