Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Dorothy M. Holm, age 95, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Care Center. Dorothy Mae Holm was born July 7, 1912 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of George and Katherine (Walters) Hopkins. She attended school in Red Oak and later was united in marriage to Adolph Holm. To this union was born a son, Fred, and three daughters: Nadine, Carolyn and Katherine. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Red Oak. Over the years she worked at the Skyway Café and the JD Café retiring in 1978. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, former member of the Rebekah Lodge, and a former member of the Royal Neighbors. She loved to crochet, knit, and cook. She especially enjoyed her children and her grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her daughter: Nadine Johnson on April 28, 1993; grandson: George "Rick" Tuttle on September 19, 2004; and grandson: Kenneth Dean Clark on June 7, 2005. Survivors include her son: Fred Holm and wife Penny of Shenandoah, Iowa; daughters: Carolyn Blay and husband Raymond of Red Oak, Iowa and Katherine McGuire and husband Don of Minden, Missouri; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, August 24, 2007 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Len Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. There will be visitation with the family 1 hour prior to the funeral on Friday at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Rescue Unit or the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital Foundation. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
