Birthplace: Rural Montgomery County, IA Resided In: Red Oak, IA Dorothy H. England, age 94, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Care Center. Dorothy Helen England was born April 29, 1917 in Montgomery County, Iowa the daughter of John Magnus and Hulda Albertina (Erickson) Swanson. Dorothy was raised in the Stanton area and the rest of her life she lived in Red Oak. She was united in marriage to Elvin Leroy "Spike" England on November 24, 1934. She was a long time member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; her mother and father-in-law: Mary Pearl and Shelby H. England; her husband: Elvin England in 1974; grandson: Brett England in 2003; six sisters: Anna, Genevieve, Edith, Esther, Elsie, and Elaine; five brothers: Joe, Leroy, Eric, Elner, and John; and other relatives. Survivors include her son: Tom England and wife Kerry of Columbia, SC; daughter: Phyllis Allen and husband Ron of Bethesda, IA; grandsons: Brady England of Wadsworth, OH; Bryce England and wife Jenny of Lexington, SC; Dan Allen and wife Michelle of Omaha, NE; and Jeff Allen of Essex, IA; great grandchildren: Eliza and Crosby England and Joelle Allen; three sisters-in-law: Evelyn Swanson of Redlands, CA; Maxine England of Villisca, IA; and Berniece England of Red Oak, IA; and many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jerome Wagoner officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
