Doris Marie Palmquist, age 90, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Accura Healthcare in Stanton, Iowa. Doris was born on February 15, 1934, on a farm southwest of Oakland, Nebraska, the daughter of Fritz and Olga (Anderson) Englund. Doris received her early education in a one-room schoolhouse. The family moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1944. Following the completion of her formal education in 1951, she worked at the Brandies department store as a clerk and at First National Bank as a bookkeeper. She was united in marriage to Raymond Palmquist on June 3, 1961, at the Bensonvale Covenant Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Doris moved to the farm north of Stanton where Raymond was living and farming. To this union, three children were born: Scott, Trudy and Sonya. The farm was sold in 1965 and the family moved to a farm south of Red Oak. Doris was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Stanton and later attended the First Covenant Church in Red Oak.

Preceding her in death was an infant brother; her parents; husband: Raymond; brothers-in-law: Wendell Johnson and Howard Palmquist and wife Eloise; sisters-in-law: Ileen Larson and husband Leonard and Doris Latimer and husband Robert.

Doris is survived by her son: Scott Palmquist of Red Oak, Iowa; daughters: Trudy Palmquist of Red Oak, Iowa and Sonya Rosenbach and husband Mark of Chillicothe, Missouri; grandchildren: Emily Foil and husband Zach of Blue Springs, Missouri and Dalton Rosenbach and wife Jensen of Liberty, Missouri; sister: Elvera Johnson of Red Oak, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Doris Palmquist will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, January 2, 2025, at First Covenant Church in Red Oak with interment at the Mission Covenant Cemetery in rural Stanton.

Memorials are suggested to First Covenant Church in Red Oak.
