Birthplace: Emerson, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Doris Jensen, age 66, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Friday, September 1, 2006 at the St. Joseph Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Doris Leota Jensen was born September 23, 1939 in Emerson, Iowa the daughter of Alva and Lila (Ewing) Ellison. The family moved to Red Oak in 1950 and Doris graduated from Red Oak High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to Henry Jensen on October 19, 1958 in Red Oak, Iowa at the First Baptist Church of which Doris and Henry are still members. After their marriage, Henry and Doris lived in Atlantic for 17 years moving back to Red Oak in 1976. They purchased their business from Ebert Oil Co which is now Jensen Service Center. Doris also had worked at one time for Red Oak Machine and was the secretary for the First Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother-in-law: Rex Edwards. Survivors include her husband: Henry Jensen of Red Oak, Iowa; son: Allen Jensen and wife Suzanne of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter: LaDonna Jensen of Red Oak, Iowa; three grandchildren: Leanna Jensen and her fiancé Jeremy James of Red Oak, Iowa; Shaun Jensen and Kevin Jensen both of Red Oak, Iowa; sister: Martha Edwards of Palermo, Maine; special friend: Joan Thornley of Omaha, Nebraska; her beloved dog Biscuit; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Duane Lacock officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church, the Montgomery County Animal Rescue, or the American Diabetes Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
