Birthplace: Montgomery County, Iowa Resided In: Shenandoah, Iowa formerly Montgomery County, IA Doris Louise Hunt, age 96, of Shenandoah, Iowa formerly Montgomery County, Iowa, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at her home. Doris was born April 14, 1919 in Frankfort Township of Montgomery County, Iowa the daughter of Martin and Laura (Wenstrand) Lundberg. She was raised in Frankfort Township and graduated from Red Oak High School. Doris attended Red Oak Junior College and was united in marriage to Marvin A. Hunt on September 28, 1940 in Lincoln, Nebraska. They lived on the Hunt family farm in Montgomery County until moving to Shenandoah, Iowa in 1995. Doris was a confirmed member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a member of the County Chorus, Neighborhood Club, the Federated Club of Emerson, and Extension Council. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Marvin Hunt on November 3, 2002; and sisters: Ruby Sar and Elaine Jones. Survivors include her children: James Hunt and wife Janet of Columbus, OH; Arlene Ham and husband Ron of Marengo, IL; and Mary Morrissey and husband Larry of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Jason Hunt of Columbus, OH; James Hunt and wife Holly of Columbus, OH; Carrie Ham of St. Louis, MO; Christine Schulman and husband Jeff of Marengo, IL; and Vincent Morrissey of Lincoln, NE; great grandchildren: Lincoln, Luke, and Samantha Schulman and Natalie Margaret Hunt; brother-in-law: Hayden Jones of Shenandoah, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. George Hooper and Pastor Steven Hetzel officiating. There will be a private family interment prior to the memorial service at Walnut Cemetery in rural Montgomery County, Iowa. A time of fellowship will be held from 10-11 AM Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church prior to the memorial service. Memorials are suggested to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church or the Red Oak Public Library. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
