Birthplace: Iowa City, Iowa Resided In: Richmond, Texas Donald Wayne "Butch" Burg, Jr., age 51, of Richmond, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010 following a lengthy illness. Donald Wayne "Butch" Burg, Jr. was born February 6, 1959 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Donald and Sharlene (Clark) Burg. He lived his childhood in Red Oak graduating from Red Oak Community High School in 1978. Don was united in marriage to Lois Burke on December 23, 1978 in Red Oak, Iowa. Following their marriage, they moved to Texas making their home in Sugarland, where Butch worked for Thermo Fisher Scientific Parkway. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church. Butch was a simple man who cared deeply for his wife, children, and family. Don was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Helen Burg and Edna and Wilbur Allender; mother, Sharlene Burg; and twin sisters, Sharon and Karen. Survivors include his wife: Lois Mae Burg of Richmond, TX; children: Joshua Burg and wife Jessica of Ft. Worth, TX and Jacob Burg and wife Jennifer of Waco, TX; father: Donald Burg, Sr. of Red Oak, IA; sisters: Pam Carbaugh (Dennis) of Red Oak; Shari Walsh of Farmington, IA; brother: John Burg of Marriott, GA; nieces and nephews: David Carbaugh (Leslie); Christi Johnson (Aaron); Dionne Binau; Kimberly Moiser (Chris); Sally McCormick (Anthony); Matt Jackson; Phillip Burg (Yesenia); Chris Burg (Lovina); and many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11 AM Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Fremont Lutheran Church at Nyman with Pastor Jerry Lamb officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with local arrangements.
