Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Dennis "Fats" Lasley, age 53, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Thursday, August 1, 2002 at his residence in Red Oak after an extended illness. Dennis Lee Lasley was born September 29, 1948 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of Herrold and Blanche (Massengale) Lasley. Denny was a lifelong resident of Red Oak, Iowa. He worked in construction and bartended for many years in Red Oak. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; and 5 brothers: Donald Lasley; David Lasley; Kenny Lasley; Marion Lasley; and Darold Lasley. Survivors include his 4 sisters: Darleen Templeton of Corning, Iowa; Barbara Straight of Emerson, Iowa; Joyce Black of Yorba Linda, California; and Carolyn Finchem of Red Oak, Iowa; 4 brothers: Darvin Lasley of Central Pointe, Oregon; Danny Lasley of Bellevue, Iowa; Doug Lasley of Simi Valley, California; and Jack Lasley of Red Oak, Iowa; 25 nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. There will be a visitation time with the family from 5-7 PM Saturday, August 3, 2002 at the home of Carolyn Finchem at 401 Third Avenue in Red Oak. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
