Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Deloris "Eileen" Wookey, age 81, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at her home. Deloris "Eileen" Wookey was born May 1, 1926 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Edward Arthur and Nettie Faie (Truitt) Raymond. She was raised in Page and Montgomery Counties graduating from the Stennett High School in 1944. Eileen was united in marriage to Robert Wookey on July 2, 1944 in Troy, Kansas. They made their home on the Wookey family farm west of Red Oak for the past 63 years. Eileen was a homemaker and was a member of the Hawthorne United Methodist Church. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother: Robert Edward Raymond. Survivors include her husband: Robert Wookey of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter: Carol Huff and husband Jerry of Emerson, Iowa; son: Dennis Wookey and wife Linda of Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren: Bryan Huff and wife Lisa of Emerson, Iowa; Brent Huff of Treynor, Iowa; Bruce Huff and wife Misti of Essex, Iowa; Jake Wookey and wife Mindy of Stanton, Iowa; and Jenny Rich and husband Joe of West Des Moines, Iowa; great grandchildren: Jordan Huff of Red Oak, Iowa; Brittany Huff of Emerson, Iowa; Logan, Madison, and Rylee Huff of Treynor, Iowa; Gage, Alexis, Sloan, and Wyatt Huff of Essex, Iowa; Madison, Mallorie, and Jonan Wookey of Stanton, Iowa; and Cory and Jeff Rich of West Des Moines, Iowa; sisters: Gwen Peterson and Maxine Raymond of Red Oak, Iowa; brother: Duane Raymond and wife Joanne of Jefferson, Oregon; sister-in-law: Faye Wookey of Red Oak, Iowa; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday, November 2, 2007 at the Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Janice Carlton officiating. There will be open visitation at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Hawthorne United Methodist Church or the Red Oak Rescue Unit. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
