Birthplace: Davenport, Iowa Resided In: Maryville, Missouri Debra Kaye (Coulter) Ervin was born April 17, 1954 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of W.W. "Bill" and Grace (Havel) Coulter. She passed away on Thursday morning, August 4, 2011 at the Parkdale Manor in Maryville, Missouri following an extended illness at the age of 57 years, 3 months and 17 days. Her family moved to Red Oak, Iowa in 1956 after living in Davenport and Columbus Junction, Iowa. She was raised and attended school in Red Oak and graduated from Red Oak Community High School in 1972. She was united in marriage to Gary Leland Ervin on December 22, 1972 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This union was blessed with two daughters, Julie and Jill. Deb started working for Eveready Battery (Union Carbide) in Red Oak and devoted much of her life to this company for over 30 years. Deb and her family moved to Maryville, Missouri after the decision was made to close Eveready Battery in 1995. She continued working as a supervisor at Energizer Battery in Maryville until her retirement in 2008. Deb was a devoted wife, mother, proud grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to so many. She also loved gardening, cooking, baking, planting daylilies, painting, spending time with her grandchildren and family, attending Bearcat football games, watching tennis and racing. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, John Michael Coulter in 1967. Survivors include her husband, Gary of Maryville, MO; her two daughters, Julie Blane and her husband Nathan of Hopkins, MO, Jill Ervin of Maryville, MO; three grandchildren, Christina Grace Trevino, Lily Kaye Blane, Caitlyn Michele Keith; two sisters, Cindy Wendt and her husband Fred of Red Oak, Iowa, Melody Bourn and her husband Jim of Red Oak, Iowa; mother and father-in-law, Lois and Earl Jackson of Red Oak, Iowa. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa with Pastor Gary Walters officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Red Oak. Visitation with the family present will take place on Monday evening, August 8, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. Memorials are suggested to the Debra Ervin memorial fund. The Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
