Milgrove
December 10, 1961 – January 31, 2026
Dawn Eloise Milgrove, age 64, of Carroll, Iowa, formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026, at her home. Dawn was born December 10, 1961, the youngest of five children to Darrell and Dorothy “Elaine” (Liljedahl) Wolfe. Dawn was raised on the family farm and attended Red Oak Schools. She was active in 4-H. She showed Black Angus calves and horses. Dawn was involved in barrel racing and earned many ribbons and trophies. She also took dance and gymnastics lessons and performed jazz and tap dance in recitals at the historic downtown Music Hall in Omaha, Nebraska. On June 30, 1987, Dawn was united in marriage to Michael Milgrove in Branson, Missouri. They made their home on Dawn’s grandparent’s homestead. Dawn and Mike loved music and attended many concerts including the Rolling Stones. They had numerous travel destinations, among their favorites were Washington, D. C. and Arlington National Cemetery, and to Chicago to cheer on Mike’s beloved Bears. Dawn and Mike enjoyed tending to their vegetable garden and sitting on their porch with a view of the row of their lilac bushes. Dawn took pleasure in sewing, knitting, crocheting and needlepointing. She looked forward to hosting traditional family holidays and never gave up the chance to browse the streets at the Walnut Antique Fall Festival. She was a proud member of The Daughters of the American Revolution with ancestry ties to a Captain in the Continental Army. She loved learning about her Swedish and Nyman heritage.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Mike Milgrove; siblings: Dianne Elaine Charmeda, an infant baby sister; and a great nephew: Baby Gus Fridolph.
Survivors include her brother: Dennis Wolfe of Red Oak; sisters: Debra Wolfe of Red Oak and Deanna Clark of Emerson; many nieces and nephews and other extended family and many cherished friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, February 9, 2026, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 10 AM until 11 AM prior to the funeral at the LeRette Funeral Chapel.
