Dawn Laurren Frink-McFarland, age 41, of Shenandoah, Iowa, formerly of the Emerson and Henderson area, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha. Dawn was born August 10, 1983, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Craig and Sherry (Frink) McCall. She was raised in Emerson, Iowa, moved to Avoca, Iowa, and graduated from Glidden High School in 2001. She worked for Vista Gardens Care Center as Activity Director, cleaned houses, and worked many years at the E Stop in Emerson. Over the years, Dawn lived in many places throughout Iowa before moving to Shenandoah recently. She was united in marriage to Jesse McFarland in 2013 in Hastings, Iowa, and two children were born of this union: Torian and Brayton. Her hobbies included music, watching TV especially shows like Dateline, 48 hours, and other crime shows, and taking care of her kitten: Vinnie.

Preceding her in death were her father: Craig McCall; brother: Marc Wilson; and grandfather: Gordon Frink. Survivors include her husband: Jesse McFarland of Shenandoah, IA; children: Torian McFarland of Marshall, MI and Brayton McFarland of Shenandoah, IA; mother: Sherry Fisher of Red Oak, Iowa; grandmother: Barbara Frink of Henderson, IA; uncles: Gary Frink and wife Connie of Emerson, IA and Barry Frink of Marion, IA; brothers-in-law: Eric Pierson of Corning, IA and Shawn McFarland of Seattle, WA; sister-in-law: Lacey McFarland of Logan, IA; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, October 28, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Emerson Cemetery at Emerson, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
